...and outside of burning chilies so badly at 12 that my Dad & I had to vacate the house for a bit, I've always lamented that I don't really have more memories of cooking when I was younger, nor do I have any picturesque memories of my parents cooking. Plus, my grandparents didn't even like kids, soooo...basically, the lack of magical cooking stories has somewhat held me back from organizing my recipes & thoughts into a blog or book. I also hate the word blog, so I will using terms like series, articles, or thoughts. For the record.
I originally wanted to call this series, 'Jump to Recipe,' because I personally can't stand the pre-recipe ramblings in a standard blog...but it was taken, so here we are.
While currently defined as "deriving pleasure from food and drink of high quality," -- Epicureanism is actually a philosophy focused on removing pain and anxiety, enjoying simple pleasures, and ultimately pursuing a life of tranquility. For me, in this modern political hellscape we're living in, good food & drink are a pathway to joy, and Idon't know about you, but I really fucking need that right now.
